Because a cat collar that does not open under pressure is a genuine hazard. If your cat snags the collar on a branch or a fence, the breakaway catch releases and lets go. Every collar we sell has one. Check the fit regularly, two fingers should slide under comfortably, and do not collar kittens under six months.
