Cats do not get bored of playing. They get bored of a toy that stops behaving like prey. A wand that moves the same way every session stops reading as something worth catching, which is why most toys end up under the sofa by week three.
What actually keeps a cat interested

Change the movement, not just the toy. Prey darts, hides, and pauses. Dragging something steadily across the floor is the least interesting thing you can do with it.

Let them catch it. A hunt that never ends in a catch stops being satisfying.

Rotate and put away. A toy left out permanently becomes furniture.

Short sessions. A cat's burst is measured in minutes, not half hours.
Silvervine, if catnip does nothing
Roughly a third of cats do not respond to catnip at all. Most of those cats do respond to silvervine, which Japanese calls matatabi. If you have tried it and got nothing, the cause is usually the form rather than the cat, because galls, leaves and sticks are not interchangeable.
